Ring, the Amazon-owned home security and smart home company, is at GITEX Technology Week promoting its innovative products and solutions.

The company, which states its mission is to make neighbourhoods safer, has launched a suite of new security devices at GITEX that include the Ring Floodlight Cam Wired Pro, Ring Video Doorbell Pro 2 and Ring Floodlight Cam Wired Plus.

ITP.net caught up with Mohammad Meraj Hoda, Vice President of Business Development – Middle East and Africa, and found out more on Ring’s participation this year…

What are the key highlights of Ring’s participation at the GITEX?

At GITEX 2021, we plan to showcase our latest suite of smart home security products, which includes our latest Video Doorbells and Cameras – all Wi-Fi enabled and equipped with HD video, motion-activated alerts, two-way talk, and night vision. We plan to place the spotlight on our newly launched Video Doorbell Wired as well as our Stick Up Cams and Indoor Cam.

What are your views on the digital future of the region?

The Middle East has already set a path for massive digital disruption with high smartphone-adoption rates and social-media use. We already see various Gulf region governments releasing their future vision plans, like Dubai 2030 and Saudi’s Vision 2030, with commitments toward embracing technologies like cloud, big data, blockchain, internet of things, and artificial intelligence as part of their journey to provide better services and experience to their citizens and the public.

Building on a history of innovation, the region is well positioned to transform itself into a leading digital economy—and to realise significant economic benefits—if it can bring stakeholders together to focus on developing the region’s governance, business, funding, and talent.

What’s new with your participation this year as compared to previous years?

We have been participating in GITEX for over five years and have had great success at the previous editions of the exhibition. We would like to continue to build this momentum this year as well. It gives us an opportunity to showcase our innovations in the smart home security space and reiterate our message around neighbourhood safety.

Why are tech shows such as GITEX important despite the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic?

As the world is moving forward, we are looking to overcome challenges brought on by the pandemic. With GITEX scheduled in October, we could foresee the positivity and the road to business recovery.

While remote work models have turned out to work very well across organisations, the one thing that most of us are aware and agree with is that the human element cannot be replaced. A business is all about people and the key to building strong relationships. Events like GITEX offer us a platform to meet with key decision makers from the region at one location and conduct live product demos for them.
