SAP has once again been positioned as a Leader in the 2021  “Magic Quadrant for Cloud Database Management Systems” report.

Gartner evaluated 20 vendors and named SAP a Leader based on “completeness of vision and ability to execute.”

“SAP’s cloud-first mind-set paves a critical, future-proof path forward for our customers. SAP Business Technology Platform serves as the unified, business-centric, and open platform for our customers to become an intelligent enterprise — helping to integrate and extend applications, streamline workflows and processes, and unlock powerful insights across all data,” said JG Chirapurath, Chief Marketing and Solutions Officer, SAP.

“We believe this latest Gartner report demonstrates how we’ve successfully transitioned our leadership in the data management space to the cloud.”

Gartner reviewed several SAP products for this Magic Quadrant. The products, which address both operational and analytical DBMS use cases, include the SAP HANA Cloud database, the Data Warehouse Cloud solution, Adaptive Server Enterprise, IQ software and the SQL Anywhere suite.

SAP HANA is the database management foundation of SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) and is trusted by over 58,000 customers to manage their most business-critical data. With the ability to process transactional and analytical workloads in real time — no matter where the data resides — it is uniquely suited to support the customers’ intelligent enterprise journey.

“SAP’s data and analytics solutions deliver an enterprise-oriented set of services that help organisations simplify their data landscapes and rely on trusted, always-up-to-date information for making better decisions through a modern data architecture with ubiquitous reach. The unified data and analytics from SAP include real-time access to mission critical sources, the ability to effectively run-on multiple clouds or on-premise landscapes. SAP also delivers sophisticated workload management, real-time analytics directly on transactional data, machine learning – all with the highest security standards,” Chirapurath added in a blog post on SAP website.

“Today, data has become an engine of value creation. All around the world, highly interconnected organizations are forging new data strategies to derive meaningful insights and propel their business forward. Yet, with data siloed across countless cloud and on-premises systems, many organisations struggle to derive real value from data assets at the pace their business needs.

“SAP is committed to simplifying our customers’ digital transformation journey with a business-centric cloud data and analytics portfolio that leverages existing investments, delivers live insights at critical interaction points, and provides the ability to create action plans to improve business performance.”
