CES 2022, the latest edition of the world’s largest electronics show, is host to all sorts of innovative creations from the world’s leading tech companies, startups and smaller firms. Here are ITP.net’s favourite finds among the technological marvels, some are clever, some are revolutionary, others are just plain fun.

Samsung’s 55-inch Odyssey Ark

The Odyssey Ark takes curved screens to a new level. With a 1000R curvature, the Ark wraps around the user to create an immersive experience. With Samsung‘s multi-view feature, users can run multiple windows at specific resolutions allowing for maximum productivity. The quantum dot tech and mini-LED backlighting should ensure exceptional image quality.

Schlage Encode Plus

The Schlage Encode Plus makes coming home a technological experience. In conjunction with an Apple Watch or iPhone, this smartlock allows you to tap your device to your door and open it without taking any additional steps. The lock can also be set to require Face ID or Touch ID or a traditional passcode.

Samsung Eco Remote

The Samsung Eco Remote removes the need to ever change your batteries again. Powered by the energy created by Wi-Fi signals and solar power, the RF-harvesting Eco Remote automatically recharges itself using your existing Wi-Fi network.

Asus Zenbook 17 Fold OLED

Foldable phones are one thing, but Asus has announced the Zenbook 17 Fold OLED tablet. One panel can be folded up to 90 degrees, allowing it to be used as if it were a laptop, or the screen can remain in a flat position to be used as a traditional tablet. Of course, it can also fold in half to fit into a bag.

Sony QD-OLED TV

Sony’s QD-OLED TV only uses blue light-emitting diodes, which in allow the panel to successfully produce the full spectrum of colors that the human eye is able to perceive. The result is an incredible color range and viewing experience.

TP-Link Archer AXE200 Omni

Routers are typically dull affairs, but the TP-Link Archer AXE200 Omni features four external adjustable antennas to help direct signals to specific parts of a home where they’re needed most. The router makes these adjustments by itself with motorised mechanisms that independently control the angle and orientation of each antenna.

HyperX Cloud Alpha Wireless Headphones

The latest version of HyperX’s Cloud lineup, this new iteration claims up to 300 hours of battery life, removing the need to worry about plugging them in. Designed for gamers, but perfect for a day of Zoom meetings, at USD 200 the Cloud Alpha Wireless Headphones are an affordable headset option.

BMW iX Flow

Thanks to the use of E Ink, the technology used in e-readers, the BMW iX Flow can switch from solid black to white and back again, or display complex monochromatic patterns at the push of a button. BMW has not announced plans to make the E Ink an option on upcoming vehicles. TCL Wearable-Display Glasses

TCL Wearable-Display Glasses feature dual 1080p Micro OLED displays to create a theatre-like experience directly in front of your eyes allowing wearers to enjoy content in HD clarity at any time. The company is also developing AR-capable glasses in the same style.

Abbott Lingo Bio-Wearables

Abbott‘s arm patches contain a sensor and a 5-millimeter-long needle that can measure your blood’s glucose, ketone and lactate levels. The patch sends data to an accompanying app which can then offer feedback on how to attain pre-determined goals, such as weight loss, or blood sugar monitoring, according to the company. Wisear Mind-Controlled Earbuds

Relieving you of the need to touch your earbuds or your phone, Wisear’s earbuds take your brain’s electrical signals and, via AI, turn them into commands, allowing you to listen to music, or answer a call without having to move. The company aims to have the mind-control technology in a production device by 2023.

John Deere’s Fully Autonomous Tractor

John Deere’s fully autonomous tractor will allow farmers to plow their fields without having to go near the machine. Released later this year, the retrofitted 8R tractor features cameras and advanced technologies to allow it to move around a field without a driver, automatically stopping when it discovers an obstacle. Samsung Freestyle Projector

Samsung’s latest video projector is a projector, smart speaker and versatile lighting system, all in one. The Freestyle projector can rotate 180 degrees to turn anything into a display, from your floor to your walls and ceiling. An optional accessory lets you screw it into a standard lightbulb socket then project an image—up to 100 inches in diagonal—to a desk, a table or the floor.

Sleep Number Smart Bed

Sleep Number’s new 360 Smart Bed was designed to use machine learning to better respond to the body. The bed monitors how you sleep over time to spot irregularities and alert you if it detects irregularities. It also maintains your ideal “personal microclimate” and adjusts your bed’s temperature during the night—no remote or alert necessary.

Pedia_Roid Emergency Training Robot

Tmsuk has created a doll that mimics how a child reacts to being in a dentist’s chair to train students. The doll can bite, gag and wriggle, kick and cry out. Its cheeks change colour and its arms and legs can move along with its head and chest. The doll can also “bleed” fake blood.

Moen No-Handle Motion- and Voice-Activated Tap

The Nio tap from Moen is available in a handle-less version that can be controlled by motion, an app, or the user’s voice. The tap can also be set on a “hand washing” mode, where the water will run for 20 seconds before stopping automatically.

DeepOptics 32ºN Reading Sunglasses

The new DeepOptics 32ºN glasses can switch between sunglasses and different strengths of reading-glasses presets with a press to the temple. The lenses feature a layer of liquid crystals that, at the user’s touch, react to a voltage change to move the pixels into different prescriptions to fit your eyes’ needs in various conditions such as reading or driving.

L’Oréal Handheld Home Hair-Dye Machine

The Colorsonic is a hand-held device that uses “an innovative, mess-free process to mix hair colour and apply it evenly” when you’re alone in your bathroom. Select your preferred colour from 40 shades on the Colorsonic website and order it. When it arrives brush your hair from the roots to the tips for uniform colour application. After 30 minutes, you’re ready to rinse. 

LG InstaView Oven Range

LG’s InstaView Double Oven Gas Slide-in Range allows users to see inside the oven by double-tapping on the glass front. In addition, the oven is integrated with LG ThinQ Recipes in the ThinQ app. The app provides more than 18,000 interactive recipes and 10,000 shoppable recipes. The shoppable recipes connect directly from the app to order from Walmart or Amazon Fresh in a single tap.

Homey Bridge

The Homey Bridge is a smart home hub that could do away with the need to run countless pieces of software at the same time. With integrated functions similar to those of the famed If This Then That (IFTTT) system, The Homey Bridge could finally make a smart home simple.

Bird Buddy

Bird Buddy is an AI-powered bird feeder that notifies you through a companion app when a bird arrives at the feeder. The feeder can also take photos or videos of the bird, recognizes over 1,000 species and can organize them into collections. The feeder will also notify you when the seed is running low.

Samsung Galaxy S21 FE

Samsung’s new budget flagship phone will open at USD 699. At under 8mm thick, with a 32MP front camera and the ability to capture images from the front and rear cameras at the same, the new Galaxy S21 FE is a compelling option. Featuring a 240Hz touch response rate and 120Hz refresh rate, Samsung claims the phone offers the highest resolution on the market through its Dynamic AMOLED 2X display.
