Saudi firms need to innovate in order to process data, according to Dell.

Ahead of the LEAP event being held in Riyadh from February 1 – 3, Dell Technologies has stated that the majority of Saudi Arabian companies gather data faster than it can be analysed and put to use. The company went on to say that data-led innovation will be required to address the issue and provide increased business opportunities.

Dell Technologies will participate in the LEAP forum, which is focused on future and disruptive technologies.

Lost opportunities

Mohamed Talaat, vice president in Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Levant at Dell Technologies, stated that Dell Technologies’ own research from 2021 showed that 70% of Saudi respondents to an Intel survey have data-driven business and consider data the lifeblood of their organisation. Worryingly, 59% said they were gathering data faster than they could analyse and use. Actionable insights are being lost and opportunities wasted by the companies’ inability to make use of its incoming data streams.

In a statement, Talaat said, “Saudi Arabia today stands at the threshold of change, underpinned by the nation’s ambitious vision and drive to transform, innovate and build a legacy for generations to come.

“While emerging technologies are transforming how the government, businesses, and the society unlock the opportunities presented by the Fourth Industrial Revolution, it also calls for navigating and turning the vast amounts of data into actionable outcomes.

“Dell Technologies remains committed to advancing the country’s transformation agenda. We’re empowering local organisations with end-to-end infrastructure and client solutions. They not only support a data-driven work culture, but are also capable of predicting the future and achieving better business results,” he said.

End-to-end solutions

At LEAP, Dell Technologies will demonstrate its end-to-end infrastructure solutions, which include multi-cloud services, digital workplaces, 5G, Edge, and Internet of Things (IoT). Aongus Hegarty, Dell Technologies’ President of International Markets, will speak on a panel titled “What are the technologies that can alleviate city challenges and improve citizen quality of life?” During the three-day event, other top company executives will give views on how best-of-breed technologies can help regional firms adjust to market shifts and build resilience and agility in the digital economy.
