Al Hosn app gets global recognition as ‘App of the Year’ in COVID-19 response category

The collaboration between the MoHAP, Alhosn National Health System, and UAE’s health sector is feted by Global Excellence Award

The UAE’s Al Hosn app has been named the ‘App Of The Year 2021’ in the COVID-19 Response category by the US-based Global Excellence Award (GEA).

The award is a recognition of the collaboration between the Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP), Alhosn National Health System, and the health sector at large. It also reflects the achievements of the UAE’s health system in its digital transformation, as well as the efficiency of the efforts made to curb the spread of the pandemic in the country.

The Al Hosn UAE app is the official COVID-19 testing, vaccination certificates and exemptions and is one of the modern national digital systems launched by the UAE government since the outbreak of the pandemic. The multilingual app (Arabic, English, Hindi) has high credibility and reliability in the country and outside.

The app is one of the most important digital solutions developed to limit the spread of coronavirus. The QR code can be read with your smartphone camera or the app’s built-in scanner. It is used to identify vaccinations and tests in an encrypted form.

The app also includes various events permits, such as Expo 2020 Dubai and Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. The Al Hosn app’s Travel Pass is available now, recognised as equivalent to EU DCC certificates.

At the local level, the app enables parents to view the rates of their children’s school vaccination rates, reflecting the highest levels of transparency and community involvement.

It keeps the information of users confidential, where the personal information is stored in an encrypted manner.

Alhosn is hosted on the National Cloud, which has the highest standards and certificates of security and data privacy such as HIPAA, ISO/IEC 2700, ISO/IEC 27018 and ISO/IEC 27017. The easy-to-use app aims achieve the highest levels of user satisfaction through rapid response thanks to the readiness and proactiveness of the national cloud services.
