Dubai-based traveltech Alike.io is looking to capitalise on a growing number of travel content creators who share their trips on social media. Alike.io has partnered with Dubai’s Department of Economy and Tourism (DET) to have Dubai as the Founding Partner City on the Alike platform.
The start-up is offering personal studios to content creators to make and publish their content while sharing revenue with the creators.
The rise of social media has been entwined with a growing population that shares their travel destinations – from meals, to beaches, to historical buildings – on their Instagram or Facebook for their followers to travel with them.
“No platform rewards content creators for the bookings they influence, leaving the content creators to compete for a finite number of brand sponsorship deals,” said Ashish Sidhra, Co-Founder of Alike.io. “With the launch of Alike we have made an ambitious commitment to correct this wrong by making tens of thousands of vetted and bookable travel experiences available to the content creators, and giving them a share of the booked experiences revenue.”
In Dubai, a city filled with spots designed for Instagram, Alike.io is hoping to attract tourists who come to the Gulf city to be seen.

According to Alike.io’s website, the platform lets creators see how their content is performing, what followers are enjoying the most, and how much money is being made.
