More than 26 million citizens register their digital ID on Saudi’s egov platform

Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Interior’s electronic platform and mobile application“ Absher” has more than 26 million registered digital IDs. The Saudi Ministry of Interior stated that its governmental electronic platform and app now offers more than 350 services. This is a culmination of efforts made in the past 10 years since the inception of the platform.

The digital IDs have contributed by facilitating entry into various numbers of electronic governmental platforms through the unified national access. The digital ID initiative is in line with the Ministry’s efforts towards digital transformation guided by the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 goals.

Saudi Arabian government aims through Absher and other governmental digitization efforts to reach the top fifth place on the list of e-governance indicators.

During the first six months of the current year, Absher carried out more than 11,600,000 electronic transactions, with a rate of more than 64,000 daily transactions.

It is noteworthy that Absher platform has achieved record numbers during the past first 6 months of this year 2022, as it has conducted more than 11.6 million e-transactions, with an average more than 64,000 transactions per day.

The egovernment platform managed to renew 330,230 Saudi passports, handling 3,693,930 mail delivery requests, carrying out 176,509 transactions in Bayanati service, 377,004 driving authorization requests, 452,968 driving license renewals, 343,566 vehicle repair paper requests, 612,454 vehicle registration and renewals, in addition to renewal of 2,362,199 residency permit (iqama), issuance of 1,937,737 exit-re-entry visas, issuance of 726,591 residency visas, handling 336,061 job transfer services, and extension of 287,939 exit-re-entry visas.
