What’s the theme of your participation at GITEX this year? What are the key aspects that you’re highlighting at the show?

This year at GITEX Global 2022, Dell Technologies will highlight new growth opportunities for regional businesses with infrastructure solutions comprising multi-cloud, digital workplace, data, security and finance solutions. The offerings are part of the company’s strategy to deliver fully integrated technologies that can support businesses accelerate their transformation journey and build resilience and agility through IT simplicity, digital innovation and more. As part of our commitment to innovation, we will also showcase uses of Quantum Computing and the rapidly evolving world of Metaverse.

We will have a partner led stand where our partners will be showcasing our integrated solutions portfolio from edge-to-core-to-cloud. Dell Technologies’ focus has always been to add value and engage with regional decision makers, customers and partners in a shared dialogue to support their growth vision with our industry-leading solutions and services.

What differentiates your participation this year as compared to previous years?

The do-anything-from-anywhere economy has become a part of our daily lives and we seek to optimise performance, reliability, manageability, design, and security in our products. This year, in addition to our Infrastructure Solutions Group segment, we will also be showcasing some of Dell’s Client Solutions Group offerings. These include, and are not limited to, hardware such as desktop PCs, monitors and peripherals, rugged products, and software including end-point security. We’re also excited to be showcasing some of our flagship Alienware gaming products with activations.

Dell Technologies solutions and devices can help equip and prepare workforces to excel in this new reality, and enable them to create a modern workplace based on collaboration and inspired user experiences that empower them to work how they want, not just how they need.

In addition, this year we will highlight solutions for verticals, like telco and healthcare. For healthcare, we’re reimagining patient care delivery, with a patient first, data-anywhere focus – where secure, modern health IT solutions enable a more connected workforce providing personalised care to patients wherever they might be.

What does the ‘next digital universe’ mean to you?

From the “digital world” to the “next digital universe”, as we move forward, technology will play an even bigger role and the boundaries for technological innovation will expand. From multi-cloud to AI/ML, quantum computing, 5G, the metaverse and Edge – we see so many exciting technologies today that are changing how businesses operate across various verticals.

We see the next digital universe encompassing a virtual world, and what is new is how we’re looking for ways to connect with people, places and entertainment without having to leave a physical space. We’ll see opportunities for immersive learning with virtual classrooms across the globe. We’ll be able to “travel” to new places and engage with more people without having to board a plane or drive long distances, which will come with more innovations in immersive reality and the Metaverse. We’ll see an even greater decentralisation of data and the need for compute that happens in real-time across workloads that combine visual data, AI and machine learning. I see this “next digital universe” in the most positive way, and it’s an excitement and optimism that is contagious across our teams.

What are the challenges and opportunities in this ‘next digital universe’? How do you aim to support organisations in this journey?

To be future-ready for this dynamic landscape, we need to be ambitious in tapping into the opportunities presented by digital transformation. When we look at challenges, we must look at it both from a people and technology perspective. We can appreciate the role that technology plays in helping businesses adapt and become digitally enabled to succeed. On the flip side, with this, we see some concerns emerging.

First, is the issue of cyber security. From the dark web to ransomware to fraud to hacks – today businesses must ensure they have resilient and secure technology infrastructure in place that can help protect their business and financial data. With widespread transformation, this is only going to become more essential. Second, while businesses regard their people as their greatest asset for driving transformation projects, an upcoming period of rapid transformation might leave businesses and their workforce in need of time to recharge, reflect and refine before embarking on new projects.

At Dell Technologies, we believe breakthrough transformation happens at the intersection of people and technology. In our parts as digital advocates, we will play an instrumental role in bringing our deep technological expertise to positively impact organisations. Across the region, we seek to become the technology industry’s most trusted advisor, providing capabilities spanning strategy development, consultative services and solutions deployment and support to help customers safely and securely drive their digital transformation agenda forward into the “next digital universe”.
