AMD brings high-performance computing to GITEX Global 2022

What’s the theme of your participation at GITEX this year? What are the key aspects that you’re highlighting at the show?

As a company focused on building leadership high-performance and adaptive products that push the boundaries of what is possible, our main theme will be high-performance computing. AMD’s wide portfolio of products enables us to support broad business segments, including education and research as well as numerous other industries.

Creating a more sustainable business has become a key priority for organisations and today more and more companies are setting sustainability and/or energy efficiency objectives. For those organisations, there are lessons to be learnt from the innovative technologies being employed by some of the world’s fastest supercomputers, particularly those developed by AMD.

What does the ‘next digital universe’ mean to you?

High-performance computing is ubiquitous and more powerful than ever. Every single day, whether it is in the electronics we rely on at home and work, the advanced data centres and networks that connect us all or the supercomputers used to drive research and innovation in numerous fields, computing makes the previously impossible possible.

The next digital universe will be more connected. We will have multiple devices from your smart car all the way to your connected washing machine, and AMD is at the very heart of the existing and the next digital universe, be it in the cloud or at the end-user devices. At the heart of this ‘next digital universe’, our users are expecting a much higher performance at the best TCO along with maintaining sustainability.  

What are the challenges and opportunities in this ‘next digital universe’? How do you aim to support organisations in this journey?

With the next digital universe, there are many challenges including security and power efficiency whilst the expectation from the market that performance continues to increase. AMD plays a vital role in supporting organisations in their digital journey including creating CPUs for servers, GPUs and CPUs for connected devices that offer premium performance and an outstanding TCO. As for security, we offer an integrated on-chip security processor which is designed to help protect sensitive data and validate the code before execution.
