GITEX 2022: AI leads the way with experiential technology

Ai Everything, the world’s largest and most influential events dedicated to AI, took place alongside GITEX Global, and was able to explore the social, political, economic and cultural impact of artificial intelligence, both on a macro and micro level.

Speaking on the first day of GITEX, Omar Bin Sultan Al Olama, UAE Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Application, noted that the UAE and Dubai believe in the power of globalisation and creating an ecosystem that allows people to thrive. 

A a result, meet five companies that showcased their expertise in AI at GITEX 2022:

Alef Education

Alef Education, a UAE-based leading global education technology provider, highlighted the significance of AI and Digital transformations in fostering the education sector during the Ai Everything summit.

Alef Education promotes AI and Digital transformations in education sector

The global edtech provider showcased a broad portfolio of solutions powered by AI and big data, designed to simplify the education ecosystem efforts towards improved e-learning journeys.

Huawei 

Huawei showcased its wide range of innovations in 5G, paving the way to 5.5G, cloud-native 2.0 architectures, AI, digital power, cybersecurity, and industry applications, designed to meet the needs of various verticals including government, utilities, oil and gas, transportation and finance.

Dr Tian Qi, Chief AI Scientist at Huawei Cloud, in a keynote speech, also focused on the the vast potential that AI can have for the scientific community, highlighting that AI can speed up computation time by a factor of at least 10,000, and can help better predict weather patterns and support in discovery of new medications. 

Dataiku

Dataiku’s main GITEX showcase will be its end-to-end Data Science Studio (DSS) platform, which systemises AI and turns businesses into AI creators. Easy-to-use, unified, collaborative interfaces allow every business role to gain access to data and leverage it to add value. Efficient pipelines allow rapid prototyping, testing, and deployment, shrinking times to market for AI applications to as little as a week. And a centralized but global architecture grants flexibility to teams while maintaining good governance.

The company will also show how DSS supports the workforce in becoming AI-savvy.

MBZUAI

The Mohamed Bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence (MZUAI) showcased some of its latest research and innovation in an interactive, two-story exhibit.

Visitors to the university’s exhibit had the opportunity to discover firsthand how MBZUAI’s faculty, researchers, and students are pushing the boundaries of AI. 

Commenting on the partnership, MBZUAI President, Professor Eric Xing, in a statement noted, “AI is a uniquely powerful technology that will help improve many aspects of people’s lives from healthcare and business, to education, delivery of government services, and so much more. Ultimately, we must ensure that everyone is brought along for the journey and AI literacy is one key aspect of that.”

G42 Healthcare

Abu Dhabi-based AI health-tech company, G42 Healthcare, demonstrated its pioneering solutions and innovation at GITEX Global.

At GITEX 2022, G42 Healtcare signed an agreement with PwC, which will aim to drive innovation and the uptake of AI across businesses and sectors – combining PwC’s technology consulting prowess with G42’s AI capabilities.

G42 Healthcare also recently partnered with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to globalise its genomic sequencing, proteomics, and biobanking services which enables it to quickly and efficiently store data and transfer to clients across the globe.
