‘Channel partners play a crucial role to our success,’ SolarWinds exec

Organisations across the region are rapidly looking at transforming the way they operate and do business to be able to thrive in an increasingly digital era.

Spending on digital transformation is expected to grow at a compound annual growth of 15.5% from 2020 to 2023 to approximately $6.8 trillion, according to IDC. For technology players to be able to successfully support digital transformation initiatives and accelerate business transformation, they need partners that are not only well-versed with the latest industry trends but also have local expertise and are trusted by business leaders.

Channel partners are uniquely positioned to offer access to innovative technologies and can leverage expertise to meet the needs of evolving but often overwhelmed business customers.

For global players such as SolarWinds, channel partners play a crucial role in their growth globally and regionally.

“When you look at our business strategy, you see partners showing up consistently across the entire business strategy,” says Jeff McCullough, vice president of worldwide partner sales, SolarWinds.

“We recognise that partners are a critical part of our engagement model and in working with customers. They’re also a critical part of our overall execution plan. We’ve worked with them for many years and we have some phenomenally powerful and strong partners that we work with.”

Most recently, SolarWinds launched its Transform Partner Program to support and drive growth for the company’s valued global channel partners. The new channel program is designed to transform the way SolarWinds partners with industry-leading technology distributors, value-added resellers (VARs), global system integrators (GSIs), managed service providers (MSPs), and cloud partners around the world.

“The SolarWinds Transform Partner Program really spells out in detail what being a great SolarWinds partner means and how partners can achieve and grow with us. It demonstrates how important channel partners are to our business and why these partnerships are intrinsic to everything we do. This programme provides us with a unique way to engage and work with our partners today,” explains McCullough.

According to McCullough, Transform offers SolarWinds partners strong profit potential, growth opportunities, and access to innovative tools and resources. It offers partners a number of key benefits, including financial incentives, performance rebates, enablement and training programs, an enhanced Partner Portal, and new marketing and sales support.

As a vital component of the company’s growth strategy, Transform provides a new model for partners to offer their clients SolarWinds technology solutions through SaaS and cloud-connected, on-premises deployments.

“Our partner relationships are very crucial in our efforts to grow our business through customer-centric technology innovations,” says McCullough. “The most intrinsic truth about the channel is that it brings customers choices. Having choices helps customers make the right decisions. This is why many organisations see partners as trusted advisors. They offer holistic services from advisory, resources and the experience and expertise that they bring in implementing technology projects. I think that’s an important role that partners play, which many customers recognise. That’s why our channel ecosystem is key to SolarWinds’ success.”

SolarWinds Transform Partner Program builds on the company’s commitment to the growth and development of its channel ecosystem, according to McCullough. Transform is the first formal SolarWinds channel program. With many of the more than 2,000 existing partners, the channel has been integral to the SolarWinds’ 20-year success.
