Saudi agtech RedSea announces key appointments to strengthen global footprint

Bruno de Oliveira joins as Chief Agricultural Officer and Branko Lovic as Chief Plant Science Officer

RedSea, the AgTech company that makes commercial farming in hot climates possible through sustainable technology, has hired two new executives: Chief Agricultural Officer and Chief Plant Science Officer.

The appointments aim to reinforce the company’s commitment to developing innovative technologies for sustainable agriculture. Bruno de Oliveira will serve as Chief Agricultural Officer, bringing experience in managing commercial crops globally, while Branko Lovic will become Chief Plant Science Officer, with a background in agriculture and plant science.

de Oliveira will oversee global agriculture operations, ensuring they align with ESG and sustainability goals, while Lovic will advance the development of salt, heat, and drought tolerant crops.

“We are excited to have Branko and Bruno join us – their expertise, experience, and values are well-suited to the ethos of RedSea and our mission to drive sustainable technology solutions that increase crop yield, ensure high-quality food, and help feed the world,” said Ryan Lefers, CEO and co-founder of RedSea.

“As we look to scale and focus on our technology sales this year, Branko and Bruno’s experience in product development and agriculture will prove invaluable. We look forward to seeing our advancements benefit growers – and increase our global reach.”

RedSea leverages science to design need-based agriculture technologies for hot climates. Its platform encompasses resilient plant science and genetics, sustainable cooling systems, heat-absorbing greenhouse roofs that allow visible light, and a remote monitoring and control system.

The technologies are being used by growers in seven countries and at RedSea’s own facilities, where high-quality produce is produced and sold under the Red Sea Farms brand. RedSea has a growing portfolio of partnerships, including with Red Sea Global and Silal, and aims to become a global leader in sustainable hot climate agriculture, solving the problem of food insecurity through innovation.
