5G will open the door to the intelligent world and the leap to 5.5G presents a significant step in this direction, according to Huawei’s Carrier BG President Li Peng during Huawei’s MWC Barcelona 2023 Day 0 Forum.

Li stressed the importance of collaborative efforts within the industry to expedite the progress towards an ultra-broadband, eco-friendly, and intelligent world. He also highlighted that Huawei’s GUIDE business blueprint could serve as a basis for this significant accomplishment.

The convergence of the physical and digital worlds is becoming more apparent as the impacts of digital and intelligent transformation are felt in our workplaces, homes, and personal lives. To meet the growing demand for superior experiences and productivity in these domains, several carriers are propelling the ICT industry forward.

Moving forward to an intelligent world

This integration will extend to every aspect of life, including personal entertainment, work, and industrial production. As a result, networks must evolve to offer ubiquitous 10Gbps, connectivity and sensing must be integrated, and the ICT industry must focus on energy efficiency. To meet these growing demands, the evolution from 5G to 5.5G will be critical.

Huawei is prepared to collaborate with industry partners to deliver a comprehensive 10Gbps experience using innovative wireless, optical, and IP technologies. They will also explore the integration of sensing and communication, with use cases such as vehicle-road collaboration and environment monitoring. Additionally, they aim to develop a unified energy efficiency indicator system to promote green industry development.

At the upcoming MWC Barcelona 2023, which runs from February 27 to March 2 in Barcelona, Spain, Huawei will showcase its products and solutions at stand 1H50 in Fira Gran Via Hall 1.

Alongside global operators, industry professionals, and opinion leaders, they will discuss various topics, including 5G business success, 5.5G opportunities, green development, digital transformation, and their vision of using the GUIDE business blueprint to lay the foundation for 5.5G and build on the success of 5G for even greater prosperity.
