Data storage giant Western Digital has reported an unauthorized access to their systems, which they referred to as a “network security incident.”

The breach reportedly took place on March 26, 2023, and allowed an unknown third party to gain entry to “several of the company’s systems.”

Upon discovering the hack, Western Digital has launched an incident response effort and engaged cybersecurity and forensic professionals to investigate the matter.

The company is also working with law enforcement agencies on the matter, adding the investigation is in its initial stages.
