Saudi Arabia: Eid Al-Fitr 2023 private sector holidays announced

Saudi Arabia has announced that the holiday is set to start on Thursday, April 20, after the end of the working day, and will last for four days

The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development in Saudi Arabia took to Twitter to announce that the private sector and non-profit organizations will observe a holiday for Eid Al-Fitr 2023.

The holiday is set to start on Thursday, April 20, after the end of the working day, and will last for four days.

Ramadan was declared across the Gulf region following the announcements of moon-sighting committees. Several countries have implemented reduced working hours for the duration of the month.

In the UAE, the anticipated timeline for the Eid al-Fitr celebrations is from April 20 to 23, regardless of the astronomical calculations for the lunar months. The specific dates will only be declared once the crescent moon is observed.

Musafir.com, an online travel agency, has reported that despite an expected airfare surge of 10 to 15 percent during the Eid holiday, approximately 65 percent of individuals are interested in international travel.

When traveling outside the country, it’s important to keep in mind several factors to ensure a worry-free trip concerning cybersecurity:

  • Utilise robust passwords
  • Keep software updated
  • Monitor app permissions
  • Create backups
  • Be cautious on social media
  • Verify links and attachments
  • Disable Wi-Fi/Bluetooth connections
