Abu Dhabi’s Injazat, Oracle create new dedicated cloud region for federal and local government entities

Injazat and Oracle seek to accelerate cloud adoption and innovation in the UAE with newly created Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Dedicated Region

Cloud giant Oracle has announced a partnership with Abu Dhabi-based Injazat to create a secure and compliant Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Dedicated Region within Injazat’s data centres.

The partnership will give federal and local government entities access to Oracle’s Cloud Applications and Infrastructure services in compliance with the highest regulatory requirements.

The partnership was signed at the Oracle CloudWorld Tour Abu Dhabi by Ussama Dahabiyeh, CEO, Injazat, and Nick Redshaw, Senior Vice President, cloud technology, and UAE country leader, Oracle in the presence of Dr. Mohamed Al Kuwaiti, Managing Director, National Data Centre under the UAE’s Supreme Council for National Security.

“In today’s rapidly evolving tech landscape, embracing partnerships with leading global technology providers, and enabling their localisation have become a key priority for businesses and governments,” said Mansoor Al Mansoori, Chairman, Injazat.

“This partnership is a testament to our commitment to meeting this need while continuing to spearhead innovation in digital transformation for the UAE government.”

Injazat CEO Ussama Dahabiyeh further noted that the deal builds on their long-standing partnership with the global tech giant.

“We are proud to partner with Oracle to develop Injazat’s Dedicated Region to provide customers with key Oracle services they have depended on for years, now enhanced through a cloud platform that abides by local laws and regulations,” said Ussama Dahabiyeh.

He added, “With this partnership, Injazat is reaffirming its role as a key national digital transformation player thanks to its comprehensive offerings that include multi-cloud, system integration, platform development, cybersecurity, and venture expertise.”

Nick Redshaw, Senior Vice President, Tech Cloud, and UAE country leader, Oracle, reiterated the company’s commitment to enable Abu Dhabi and the UAE in achieving their development goals by leveraging the latest cloud-powered digital technologies.

“After establishing two public cloud regions in the UAE in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, we now want to explore a collaboration with Injazat to help its customers gain access to the most flexible and innovative cloud solutions that meet the most demanding data residency requirements. We will be collaborating with Injazat to establish a Centre of Excellence that should elevate the service level and focus on innovation that will unlock substantial growth potential across the region,” said Redshaw.

Worldwide spending on public cloud services is slated to reach $597.3 billion in 2023, up from $491 billion in 2022, according to the latest forecast from Gartner. The growth is fuelled by the growing demand for cloud solutions as businesses enter the next phase of their digitalisation strategies.

Over the recent past, Oracle has established two second-generation cloud regions in the UAE, located in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, along with two innovation hubs aimed at expediting the adoption of digital technologies.
