Facebook is giving you the power to control the videos you see

Get ready to see a whole lot more Reels that you actually like on Facebook

Facebook has launched new controls for its Reels feature, allowing users to have more control over the type of content they see.

The update includes two new options, “Show more” and “Show less,” which can be found by tapping the three-dot menu at the bottom of the video player. The former will increase the ranking score of a particular video, making it more likely for similar content to appear, while the latter will decrease its ranking. With continued use, Facebook will learn users’ preferences and show more relevant content.

Furthermore, Reels has also been added to the main navigation menu of Facebook Watch, allowing users to easily access short-form videos and discover new creators and content. Users can also now scroll seamlessly between Reels and longer videos on the platform. Facebook has also introduced new tags for Reels to provide context on why a particular video is appearing on a user’s timeline.

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg stated in the company’s latest earnings report that Reels have contributed to increased user engagement on both Facebook and Instagram. With these new updates, Facebook hopes to further improve its ranking system and encourage users to spend more time on the platform.

In the last three months, Facebook has launched several additional updates. An example of this being “Live Rooms”. The feature, which launched in March, allows users to go live with up to three other people. In April, Facebook rolled out its new “Soundmojis” feature, which lets users send sound effects in messages. Additionally, Facebook introduced new creator tools, including an updated version of its Creator Studio and a new monetization feature for short-form videos.
