Saudi Arabia has announced updates to the way it issues visas for workers and visitors to the Kingdom in line with a new initiative by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The traditional visa sticker on passports will be replaced with a digitised version featuring a QR code.
The move is part of the broader digitisation of the ministry’s consular services, which includes the issuance of work permits, residence permits, and visit visas.

As the first stage, the new procedure has been activated at the Kingdom’s diplomatic missions in:

- Egypt
- Bangladesh
- India
- Indonesia
- Philippines
