Eid Al Adha in UAE: Private sector to get six-day break

Normal work operations are scheduled to resume on Monday, July 3

The UAE Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) made an official announcement on Monday regarding the Eid Al Adha holidays for employees in the private sector. In line with the UAE Cabinet Resolution, the Ministry declared that the private sector will enjoy a well-deserved break starting on the 9th of Dhu Al Hijjah, known as the Day of Arafat, falling on Tuesday, June 27.

This delightful respite will span four days, concluding on Friday, June 30, during which all employees in the private sector across the UAE will be entitled to receive their full pay. Normal work operations are scheduled to resume on Monday, July 3.

Keeping in step with the approved public holidays for both the public and private sectors, the MoHRE affirmed that this decision adheres to the UAE Cabinet Resolution.

GCC: Eid Al Adha 2023

Meanwhile, various countries worldwide, including Saudi Arabia and Oman, have also declared Eid Al Adha for this year. Media reports from Saudi Arabia have confirmed the sighting of the Dhul Al Hijjah crescent moon in the Kingdom. Consequently, Arafat Day will take place on Tuesday, June 27, followed by the commencement of Eid Al Adha on Wednesday, June 28.

In Oman, the Main Committee for Moon Sighting has also announced the sighting of the crescent moon within the country’s borders.
