Everdome makes metaverse creation easy and accessible

SPACES will allow users without deep technical knowledge to quickly produce metaverse experiences which can last for days, weeks or even a matter of hours as a metaverse pop-up space

Dubai-based virtual world platform Everdome unveiled SPACES, a new Metaverse-as-a-Service product aimed at lowering the barriers to metaverse development. With SPACES, Everdome hopes to welcome a wider range of users to Web3 by simplifying the process of hosting engaging virtual experiences.

Everdome co-founder and CEO Jeremy Lopez said SPACES was designed for “people who want to get a feel for the metaverse without needing to be coders.” The stand-alone app will allow any user to easily launch customisable 3D spaces such as conferences, art exhibits, or social gatherings within minutes using pre-built event templates.

No blockchain or coding expertise is required with SPACES. Users simply choose from templates, upload media like images or videos, then invite others to join via avatar. Everdome combines Unreal Engine 5 rendering with blockchain integrations to allow these spaces to function across devices and last anywhere from hours to weeks.

Lopez noted demand is growing for accessible metaverse tools. While McKinsey data shows 60 percent of early metaverse adopters want to bring activities like work or school online, many remain daunted by technical challenges. SPACES aims to simplify the first steps into virtual worlds, helping more organisations and individuals experience the possibilities of Web3.

In alpha testing within Everdome’s flagship Mars City environment, SPACES launched first for landowners and community members. But wider release is planned soon. Everdome portends SPACES could become a new standard – just as SaaS revolutionised regular web development in the 2000s, Metaverse-as-a-Service aims to do the same for 3D experiences in coming years.

By 2024, Everdome intends to roll out additional SPACES features alongside custom virtual solution packages tailored for businesses. Lopez said this full suite will “make sure the metaverse is usable by more people more quickly, focusing on tooling and products that knock down barriers to entry.”

As interest in the virtual world concept grows, Everdome sees opportunity in streamlining development so new communities, industries, and economies may emerge online. With the launch of SPACES, they hope the early challenges of infrastructure can give way to affordable, turnkey metaverse experiences accessible to all.
