The gaming programme is approved by Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum

Dubai is gearing up to launch a new initiative aimed at bolstering the gaming sector, which is expected to create tens of thousands of jobs and contribute around $1 billion to the economy by 2033. The ‘Dubai Programme for Gaming 2033’, approved by Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Dubai Future Foundation, is designed to position Dubai among the top 10 cities in the global gaming industry.

This ambitious endeavour aims to generate 30,000 new job opportunities in the gaming sector and enhance its role in Dubai’s digital economy, thereby increasing the GDP by an estimated $1 billion by 2033. Sheikh Hamdan emphasised the importance of Dubai aligning with global trends and leveraging advanced technology to stay at the forefront of the digital economy, in line with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and ruler of Dubai.

The Dubai Programme for Gaming 2033 will create a nurturing environment for developers and attract leading technology companies worldwide, with a focus on businesses specialising in digital content and experiences. It will offer support to developers, designers, programmers, entrepreneurs, and startups in the creative industries, contributing to Dubai’s growth as a future-ready city.
