Meta launches AI-based video editing tools

Meta’s AI-based tools enhances the video editing experience by providing users with ease and flexibility in modifying their videos

Meta Platforms unveiled two AI-driven features designed for video editing, with applications for both Instagram and Facebook platforms. The first of these features, Emu Video, is designed to generate succinct four-second videos. Users can pair these videos with captions, photos, or images along with descriptive prompts.

The second feature, Emu Edit, enhances the video editing experience by providing users with ease and flexibility in modifying their videos. This feature incorporates text prompts to facilitate editing, contributing to a user-friendly video creation process.

These innovations mark an evolution from the parent model, Emu, which originally focused on generating images based on text prompts. Emu has already been instrumental in supporting generative AI technology and several AI image editing tools for Instagram. These tools empower users to take photos and manipulate visual styles or backgrounds, adding a layer of creativity to their content.

Over the past year, businesses and enterprises have increasingly embraced the burgeoning generative AI market. The surge in interest in these technologies gained momentum following the launch of OpenAI’s ChatGPT in the previous year, with companies seeking newer capabilities to refine their business processes.
