Saudi Arabia: IBM inaugurates regional headquarters in Riyadh

The Ministry of Investment granted IBM executives a regional headquarters license

IBM, a prominent provider of global hybrid cloud, AI, and consulting solutions, has recently unveiled its regional headquarters in Riyadh, showcasing its dedication to advancing Saudi Arabia’s digital transformation.

The inauguration marks an expansion of IBM’s footprint in the kingdom, building on its presence since 1947, during which the company collaborated closely with the government and enterprise sectors on various national and economically significant projects.

The Ministry of Investment granted IBM executives a regional headquarters license during a meeting on November 30, 2023, attended by dignitaries and government officials, including Khalid Al-Falih, Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Investment, and Arvind Krishna, IBM’s Chairman and CEO.

Highlighting Saudi Arabia’s conducive business environment, Al-Falih stated, “IBM’s decision to establish their regional headquarters in Riyadh is testament to Saudi Arabia’s success in developing a conducive business environment & ecosystem that complements our world-class ICT infrastructure.”

He emphasised the significance of such investments in fostering innovation within the industry, contributing to Saudi Arabia’s global leadership in digital transition.

Arvind Krishna, IBM’s Chairman and CEO, underscored the company’s commitment, stating, “Today, we are reinforcing our longstanding commitment to the kingdom as we inaugurate our regional headquarters in Riyadh.”

Krishna emphasised the transformative impact of technologies like hybrid cloud and AI, noting IBM’s role in assisting clients worldwide, including Saudi Arabia, in reshaping business models, boosting productivity, and fostering innovation.
