What is your plan for the Huawei Cloud Saudi Arabia Region? How many cloud services have you already launched, and how do they align with Saudi Arabia’s ambitious technological advancement goals and 2030 vision?

Huawei Cloud initiated plans to establish coverage in Saudi Arabia in 2021, aligning with the country’s Vision 2030, which emphasises cloud adoption. Recognising the importance of data sovereignty, Huawei Cloud aims to support the localisation of data and encourage enterprises and government entities to migrate to the cloud. After extensive assessments and discussions with stakeholders, Huawei Cloud invested 400 million and launched its cloud region in Riyadh in September 2023. The region consists of three Availability Zones, ensuring high availability and resilience, which is crucial for disaster recovery and advanced services. Currently offering 68 cloud services, Huawei Cloud plans to increase the count to nearly 80 by March and April, focusing on enhancing latency, performance, and supporting the region’s digital ambitions.

How is Huawei Cloud Saudi Arabia region contributing to the cloud ecosystem in Saudi Arabia and the region?

Huawei Cloud aims to be a key player in Saudi Arabia’s cloud ecosystem by offering not only cloud services but also ensuring professional services evolve with partners. Recognising the shortage of local expertise in cloud and AI, Huawei Cloud is committed to empowering local developers and partners. The company plans to fulfill its commitment to empower 500,000 developers and collaborate with 101,000 local partners, including startups. Huawei Cloud emphasises providing dynamic and robust security services as a mandatory baseline for all customers, addressing the security needs associated with the digital transformation journey. The goal is to become a gateway connecting the Saudi market with China and fostering a two-way cooperation between Chinese and Saudi businesses.

How is the integration of 5G, Cloud and AI combination empowering telecom operator’s business? What is Huawei Cloud’s role in this?

The combination of 5G, Cloud, and AI can empower telecom operators by enabling faster and more efficient networks, advanced cloud services, and intelligent applications. Huawei Cloud, being a major player in the cloud and AI space, would likely contribute by providing infrastructure, platforms, and services that facilitate the seamless integration of 5G and AI technologies for telecom operators.

Huawei launched Cloud Pangu models 3.0 and declared it will reshape the future of all industries with AI. Can you tell us more about Huawei Cloud Pangu model 3.0?

Huawei Cloud Pangu model 3.0 is a groundbreaking AI initiative designed to reshape the future of industries globally. Pangu model 3.0 focuses on service innovation, introducing six new solutions such as cloud-native databases, CDN Plus services, video solutions, big data engines, AI large models, and media services. These solutions cater to various sectors, including traditional media, gaming, eSports, e-commerce, and more, aligning with the diverse economic landscape and ambitious goals of the Middle East. As Huawei Cloud expands its presence, we are committed to continually introducing innovative AI models that contribute to the region’s digital transformation and economic growth.
