Meet the judges: edge Security Leadership Awards 

This year’s judging panel consists of three industry innovators

The second edition of ‘edge Security Leadership Awards’ is here. The event aims to recognise and honour the true trailblazers in the security industry who have combatted the growing security breaches and challenges. 

Scheduled to take place on the 24th of April 2024, the Security Leadership Awards is set against the backdrop of GISEC Global, one of the leading events in the security space.  

This year’s judging panel consists of Dr. Judhi Prasetyo FHEA MSC, Senior Lecturer Computer Engineering and Informatics, Head & Founder, RoboTechX Lab, Saurabh Verma, Head of ICT, Frost and Sullivan and Dr Ioannis Karamitsos, Professor at RIT & Certified ethical hacker scheme committee member, EC-Council  

The judges are entirely impartial and have no favour with any brand or person nominated for the awards.

Saurabh Verma, Head of ICT, Frost and Sullivan

Saurabh brings with him over twenty years of experience in strategic consulting and advisory to ICT service providers, and CxOs across private and public sector enterprises. 

He is the leader for Frost & Sullivan’s ICT advisory practice for the Middle East Region. His forte lies in strategy consulting around go-to-market, business models, business planning, M&A/JV opportunities, and IT sourcing advisory for CIOs.  

Recent advisory services engagements have mostly focused on customer experience, digitalization strategies, cloud and data centres, undersea cables, contact centres, commercial due diligence, M&A advisory, and feasibility of entertainment venues.

Dr. Judhi Prasetyo

Judhi holds a bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Electrical Engineering from the National Institute of Technology of Bandung (Indonesia), and a Master of Science in Engineering Management from Middlesex University Dubai. His teaching and learning interests include Robotics and Physical Computing, Realtime and Embedded Systems, and Data Communications and Security. His research areas include Collective Decision Making, Autonomous Robots and Vehicles, and Data Communications and Security.   

Judhi is the Founder and Head of RoboTechX Lab which focuses on research and development of various robots and internet-connected devices for both academic and industrial applications. He also serves as the main contact person for government and industry relationships and collaboration for Computer Engineering and Informatics Department. 

Dr Ioannis Karamitsos, Professor at RIT & Certified ethical hacker scheme committee member, EC-Council 

Dr Ioannis Karamitsos

Dr. Ioannis Karamitsos has over 30 years of industry and research experience, working with European, Middle Eastern, and Chinese companies in both private and public sectors. 

He is currently a full-time Assistant Professor in Data Analytics at RIT University and a member of DSOA-Dubai Innovation Advisory Board and DTEC accelerator as a mentor.  

Karamitsos has research interest and expertise in telecommunication security systems, cryptography, cybersecurity, AI, machine learning, blockchain, and Smart Cities. He holds several executive certificates from top institutions, including Oxford Said Business School, MIT, and Columbia Business School. Ioannis is an author of numerous journal papers and book chapters, and a member of IEEE since 1997. 

He also holds various professional certifications, including CBH, CISCO/CCNA Data Center, CEH v.9, ISO27002, PRINCE2, COBIT 5.0, IBM Certified Infrastructure Cloud Solution and IBM Cloud Computing Architecture, ITIL, TOGAF 9, and Scrum Master.
