LinkedIn’s Gamified Networking Experience

Some of the fondest memories at work often happen outside the confines of our desks – during breaks, sharing jokes, and playing games.

Well, LinkedIn wants to capture that vibe.

LinkedIn has entered the gaming arena, reminiscent of the 2010 era of Facebook when Farmville was popular.

As the well-known professional networking platform embarked on this new venture, reshaping the landscape of professional interaction. It turns out, every year in their study of the world’s best workplaces, they discover one similarity: one of the best ways to deepen and reignite relationships at work is simply by having fun together.

On 1 May, the platform introduced three engaging puzzle-games – Pinpoint, Queens, and Crossclimb. These games are now available to users worldwide on LinkedIn’s mobile app and website.

However, there is an intriguing twist. Users can only play each game once daily, adding an element of anticipation and strategy.

To enhance the competitive spirit, LinkedIn has incorporated features that allow players to track their progress within their network and compete on high-score leaderboards.

Why has LinkedIn added games to its platform? Here’s the insight from the LinkedIn team:

Yep. That’s right.

Every year, we study the world’s best workplaces. Turns out, one of the best ways to deepen and reignite relationships at work is simply by having fun together.

So we’re excited to roll out three thinking-oriented games

– Pinpoint, Queens, and Crossclimb — that allow you to do just that.

Compete with your connections, spark conversations, and break the ice. Games forge relationships, and relationships are at the heart of everything we do.

Game on!
Team LinkedIn

With these games, LinkedIn is not only just making professional networking more engaging – they are creating a space where professionals can connect, compete, and collaborate in fresh new ways.

This move signals a bold step towards blending professional growth with interactive entertainment, setting LinkedIn apart as a pioneer in professional social media.
