Gateway power up GP Range

Gateway has enhanced the specifications of it’s GP series professional desktop PCs to improve performance and flexibility.

Gateway has enhanced the specifications of it’s GP series professional desktop PCs to improve performance and flexibility. The upgraded machines will feature the new Intel 815E chipset, with microprocessors running at up to 1GHz.

The new chipset contains Intel’s 133MHz front side bus, as well as supporting 133MHz SDRAM for improved overall processor speed. Graphics capabilities are supplied on the board, although an AGP slot allows for further upgrades. The board also supports high speed ultra-ATA 100 hard drive interfaces. Chip speeds range from 667MHz to 1GHz, with a 10GB hard drive, 17” monitor and 48x CD-ROM drive as standard.

“We have expanded the capabilities of the GP7 series with greater flexibility, expandability and superior overall system performance,” said Richard Bull, product group manager for Gateway. “Small to medium-sized business customers now have a more powerful solution that can be built-to-order to handle new and evolving computer applications.”
