Cobion is adding weight to its OrangeBox Mail 2.0 solution with the aid of Sophos. Users of the content security offering will now be able to plug in a virus detection engine from Sophos to further enhance e-mail security.
Cobion already offers Symantec and McAfee antivirus engines as optional extra for users of its all-in-one e-mail security product. However, integration with Sophos’ engine will further strengthen its appeal.
According to Cobion, Sophos’ engine will integrate seamlessly with its OrangeBox Mail 2.0 software and will then scan all incoming and outgoing mails for signs of viruses. Once this process is complete messages will be forwarded to users’ mailboxes.
Suspect or infected files will be quarantined, while spam mails will also be delivered to a separate folder.
