One of the many collaboration announced at this year’s GITEX Technology Week, enterprise technology provider Oracle has entered into a strategic partnership with LinkedIn. Targeting the HR technology segment, Oracle will integrate its Oracle Human Capital Management Cloud platform and Taleo Enterprise Edition with LinkedIn’s own systems.
The move will enable HR teams to better attract prospective employees, while also assisting with the retention of talent. For example, the integrations of Oracle’s platforms will enable HR teams to take a holistic view of the candidate’s experience, skills and career goals. The data can then be compared to each employee’s job responsibilities, as well as the business’ own objectives.
HR managers will be able to explore career development opportunities for their staff via LinkedIn Learning courses, while also being able to take advantage of learner engagement with Oracle Learning Cloud.
From its stand in Hall 5 of GITEX, Oracle is once again showcasing its latest developments in enterprise technology software, focusing on two key segments.
“One is addressing the emerging technology, such as artificial intelligence and blockchain … second, we are reinforcing our strategy of cloud, we being the only company that can provide the all three pillars of the cloud,” explains Abdul Rahman Al Thehaiban, senior vice president, Middle East, Africa, and Turkey, Oracle.
In addition to presenting a wide-range of customer case studies revolving around applied Oracle technologies, the company also has on display a set of Lego-sized cities. Each one presents various applications of smart technology within a city environment, highlighting how Oracle tech can be utilised for the betterment of citizens and for improving city management.
When pressed on what he saw as the latest trends of industry, Al Thehaiban noted that while emerging technology will be discussed heavily at this year’s GITEX, autonomous databases is the latest ‘breakthrough’.
“In my view autonomous database is a breakthrough in the industry, which we believe is self-driving the business. This means having a system or database that eliminates almost all the human interaction, making sure it the latest and accurate data is provided to the company.”
