Ministry of Economy says Covid-19 crisis has produced a new generation of entrepreneurs which used these challenges to create broad digital solutions

Plans are afoot by the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry to facilitate 50,000 companies to enhance their competitiveness by taking advantage of the digital transformation initiative that has already helped over 100,000 businesses.

Hamad Buamim, president and CEO, Dubai Chamber said: “Utilising online search, analytics, e-commerce platforms, mobile apps and social media channels are now necessary in order to stay relevant and competitive and have seamless access to a wide range of customers,”

Buamim was speaking at the Grow Stronger with Google webinar organised along with the Ministry of Economy.

UAE SMEs “are fortunate to work in a sophisticated business environment which offers a world-class digital infrastructure” Buamim said.

Also at the webinar was Dr Ahmad bin Abdullah Humaid Belhoul Al Falasi, Minister of State for Entrepreneurship and Small and Medium Enterprises.

Dr Al Falasi said investing in technology, innovation and digital transformation is an imperative to ensure continuity of competitiveness.
