100MW data centres to transform Saudi Arabia’s digital landscape

The primary objective of this partnership is to encourage investment in the establishment of data centres within Saudi Arabia

Saudi ICT service provider, Saudi Call, recently inked a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with Shanghai Lumaotong Group (LMT) and China Mobile International Limited (CMI) in Riyadh. The primary objective of this partnership is to encourage investment in the establishment of data centres within Saudi Arabia.

Under the terms of the MoA, the involved parties will combine their expertise to collectively propel the creation of 100MW Tier III & Tier IV data centres, known as the Saudi Call Crownland Data Centres, in key locations such as Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam, and NEOM. These facilities will provide comprehensive solutions encompassing storage, network coverage, and database services to cater to the ever-expanding demands of the region’s digital economy, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and big data sectors.

Lumaotong Group is collaborating with Saudi Call to invest in the development of these data centres, while CMI, as the project partner, will lead the initiative alongside their strategic technology partner in Saudi Arabia, ICS Arabia. ICS Arabia has a track record of delivering high-quality data centres, including the Tier III+ Rakeeza Data Center for the Saudi Data & AI Authority (SDAIA). Notable witnesses to this significant collaboration include MXC Security, Modon Tech, China Crownland, and other key companies, all committed to advancing the project.
