Cyber security vendor Sophos used its participation at the Gulf Information Security Expo and Conference (GISEC) 2018 to showcase the company’s next-generation cyber security innovation and highlighted an extensive security portfolio with value-added distributor (VAD) partner Bulwark Technologies.

Harish Chib, vice president, Middle East and Africa (MEA), Sophos, said this year at GISEC 2018 the company participated with distributor Bulwark Technologies.

According to Chib, the company focused on next-generation cyber security innovation and showcased an extensive security array including the latest version of the next-generation endpoint security solution Intercept X and XG firewall that includes deep learning technology. “Deep learning is the latest evolution of machine learning and is a powerful, groundbreaking tool for keeping unknown threats at bay,” he said. “It uses a neural network set up like the human brain to make decisions based on stored data and predictive reasoning.”

Chib added that during the exhibition, Sophos showcased its range of industry-leading IT security solutions that protect organisations against advanced threats like ransomware. “We focused on our recently launched Sophos Mobile 8 that includes the latest in mobile security and anti-ransomware technology to protect devices against the evolving threat landscape,” he said.

He explained Sophos is committed to security innovation that directly benefits channel partners. “We have demonstrated this with the launch of Sophos Intercept X to stop ransomware, the number one threat that’s concerning partners,” he said. “Our synchronised security strategy lets our partners expand and deploy end-to-end network to endpoint security that communicates and shares intelligence.”

Chib pointed out that channel partners are now able to manage all Sophos solutions for every customer through a centralised management platform, Sophos Central. He added that within Sophos Central is Sophos Central-Partner, a specialised dashboard that allows partners to distribute licences add new customers on demand, cross and upsell services, drive recurring revenue and have a clear, real-time perspective on all customer activity.

He said Sophos has collaborated with channel partners to build a synchronised security strategy that supports cross-sell and upsell opportunities, and simplifies both user and partner experience. “As the region’s largest security event, GISEC 2018 was the perfect platform for us to reach out to companies and educate them on our deep learning technology in the latest version of our next-generation endpoint security solution Intercept X and XG firewall,” he said. “In addition we were able to communicate our synchronised security strategy. In doing this, we have equipped our partners with end-to-end security business expertise covering network, endpoint and cloud-enabled security solutions.
