Football superstar Lionel Messi marks the three-month countdown to Expo 2020 Dubai, as he spectacularly kicks a football into Al Wasl Plaza through the opening at the centre of its iconic dome.
The video was filmed at the world’s largest 360-degree projection dome as we edge closer to Expo 2020, set to open its doors on 1 October 2021.
Earlier this year, Messi toured the Al Wasl Plaza along with the students, accompanied by the Expo mascots Rashid and Latifa.
Expo 2020 Dubai will showcase cutting edge smart technology from across a huge swathe of industry verticals, to offer visitors a scintillating glimpse into the connected world of the future.
Visitors will be treated to a cornucopia of technological firsts, as Dubai plays host to the most ambitious instalment of the event to date.
Each of Expo’s 182 days will bring a new surprise, a new innovation and a new breath-taking sight, inspiring guests to visit as many times as possible.
You can buy tickets online starting 18 July. They will also be available via more than 2,500 Authorised Ticket Resellers, including online travel agents, tour operators, hotel groups and airlines from 100-plus markets around the world.
Children under the age of 18 and students holding a valid student ID from any academic institution in the world will be given free entry.
Complimentary tickets will be available for people of determination, with their companion receiving a 50 per cent discount; and visitors ages 60 years and above can also enter for free.
One-day tickets are priced at AED 95 (USD 26); multi-day tickets offering unrestricted entry for 30 consecutive days for AED 195 (USD 53).
Season passes, with unlimited entry for the entire six months of Expo 2020, cost AED 495 (USD 135).
