Astra Tech, Alibaba Cloud to redefine mobile user experiences in the Middle East

The partnership builds on an existing collaboration between both entities where Botim has leveraged Alibaba Cloud’s products and services

UAE-based technology holding group Astra Tech has partnered with Alibaba Cloud, the digital technology and intelligence arm of Alibaba Group in a bid to reshape mobile app user experiences. The partnership, signed during a formal ceremony at Botim’s headquarters in Dubai, solidifies the commitment of both parties to transform Botim into an ultra-app that offers unparalleled app performance, reliability, and seamless functionality. The ceremony was attended by Abdallah Abu-Sheikh, the Founder of Astra Tech and CEO of Botim, along with Daniel Jiang, General Manager of Middle East, Turkey, and Africa at Alibaba Cloud Intelligence, accompanied by senior representatives from both organisations.

Elevating quality and user experience

Central to this partnership is the integration of Alibaba Cloud’s Enterprise Mobile Application Studio (EMAS) mobile testing solution into Botim. EMAS, a cutting-edge tool, is set to significantly boost the quality of Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) calls and video, offering comprehensive support for a wide range of popular device models. Moreover, it will provide a 24/7 support service, enabling users to identify hidden risks within apps, including crashes, compatibility issues, functionality glitches, and performance concerns.

By addressing these challenges head-on, EMAS aims to elevate app quality and enhance market competitiveness while ensuring a seamless experience for users. This is particularly relevant as Botim undergoes its transformation into an ultra-app, broadening its services to encompass mini-apps development. This comprehensive approach to testing and security will pave the way for the seamless integration of an extended range of services and functions, further promoting streamlined connectivity, economic growth, and financial inclusion.

Abdallah Abu-Sheikh, CEO of Botim, expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership, stating, “Our partnership with Alibaba Cloud is bound to enhance user activity and foster customer loyalty. Partners will gain easy access to a comprehensive range of services on a unified platform, offering an engaging experience through a streamlined customer journey. As we align technology with empowerment, this strategic move will unlock a new era of performance, reliability, and user satisfaction. We are dedicated to creating a world where technology becomes an effortless enabler, enhancing the way we live, work, and connect.”

Daniel Jiang, General Manager of Middle East, Turkey, and Africa at Alibaba Cloud Intelligence, emphasised, “Through our EMAS Mobile Testing, we aim to offer an application quality enhancement and management platform that is intuitive, detects issues, reduces user churn, and improves app quality as well as market competitiveness for Botim. We are already reaping great results of EMAS Mobile Testing across the markets it has been deployed in.”

That partnership also builds upon an already successful collaboration between the two organisations. Botim has been leveraging Alibaba Cloud’s products and services, including Elastic Compute Service (ECS), storage, networking, and database services. The addition of EMAS will enhance Botim’s capacity for conducting weekly application upgrades across the Middle East, South Asia, and Southeast Asia, further cementing its position in the region.
