LG Electronics’ (LG) theme for CES 2022, The Better Life You Deserve, underlines LG’s goal to elevate all aspects of daily life though technological and design innovation, according to the company. The presentation includes three films, A Better Life for You, A Better Life for All and A Better Life Tomorrow.

A Better Life for You

On display at CES 2022, LG’s latest additions to the ThinQ platform empowers compatible products with additional features that can learn users’ needs. The short film A Better Life for You shows how advancements in LG’s entertainment solutions are delivering a more personalized, interactive experience to viewers on larger screens at home.

The company is introducing LG StanbyME, a wireless private mobile wireless display that can be moved anywhere in a home to deliver the viewing experience of a traditional TV. Also making their worldwide debut is LG PuriCare AeroTower, an all-in-one home air care solution designed to deliver the benefits of an air purifier, fan and heater and the LG tiiun indoor gardening appliance which offers a simple, clean and reliable way to grow plants all year round.

Sustainability and inclusivity

The company is highlighting the energy saving features built into the InstaView refrigerator, its “knock twice to see inside” transparent door, the increased use of recycled materials in packaging materials of LG Soundbar and the reduction of plastic components in LG OLED TVs as part of their commitment to sustainability. Beyond 2022, LG expects to introduce more than 600,000 tons of recycled plastic into its manufacturing processes and increase the recovery of electronic waste to eight million tons by 2030, according to the company. The presentations are supported by A Better Life for All, a short film highlighting the company’s efforts.

LG is committed to investing in Accessibility Advisory Councils across different markets. These Councils are comprised of accessibility experts and those living with disabilities and play a critical role in advising LG as it develops products with more inclusive user experience in mind, such as voice commands and Braille labelling.

To encourage innovation in the areas of sustainability and inclusivity in 2022, LG has established the Life’s Good Award with the Innovation for Earth and Innovation for All categories to solicit ideas to minimise the impact of human activities on the environment and make LG products more accessible and user-friendly. Up to USD 1 million will be awarded to winning participants, more details will be announced in the year ahead.

A blueprint for the future

The final short feature prepared for CES 2022, A Better Life Tomorrow, focuses on the future and LG’s role in turning science fiction into reality, with the company’s AI-powered CLOi door-to-door delivery robot close to launch. Audiences can also watch a behind the scenes video of LG’s virtual artist Reah rehearsing for her upcoming music video.

LG also highlighted the OMNIPOD, a mobility concept solution that blurs the distinction between home and car. Expanding upon the automotive solutions presented in LG’s previous Connected Car at CES 2020, LG OMNIPOD is an on-the-road extension of the user’s personal living space. Designed to function as a home office, an entertainment centre or a lounge, LG OMNIPOD offers a look at how a busy individual might be able to get more done in a future where remote work is the norm.
