Microsoft commits to sustainability at the Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference (ADIPEC) 2021 and seeks to empower the region in the pursuit of a net-zero future through technological advances in energy consumption.

Presenting solutions

ADIPEC 2021 brings together global specialists and industry experts to exchange views on the challenges facing the industry. ADIPEC is regarded as one of the energy industry’s most important events, and is often used to raise future-critical issues and present solutions that will shape progress.

“The need to rapidly digitise is felt acutely across all industries today,” said Naim Yazbeck, Regional Director, Enterprise and Partner Group (EPG), Microsoft UAE. “In the oil and gas sector, the use of the latest technologies, some of which are conceptualised in Microsoft’s Energy Core, will enable the industry to optimise efficiencies and reduce carbon emissions. ADIPEC is a vital forum for the airing of these important issues, and we look forward to continued dialogue with our customers on their implications and solutions. Microsoft is committed to empowering the industry to face the future with confidence and achieve more, and we trust that the technologies we demonstrate at ADIPEC 2021 will focus the strategies of decision makers and lead to the net-zero future that we all visualise.”

Data and AI

The company recently announced global carbon-emissions goals of its own, it seeks to be carbon-negative by 2030 and remove historic emissions by 2050. At ADIPEC it reaffirmed its regional commitment to enhance energy conservation and efficiency while continuing to empower organisations and individuals. The company’s solutions rely on the power of data and AI to fulfil demand through renewable energy sources and other intelligent consumption approaches. The company recently announced that it was working with Etihad Airways to help the airline achieve their sustainability goals.

The Microsoft booth in ADIPEC’s Digitalization Zone provided visitors with insights from industry experts, who took a deep dive into the latest energy solutions. The insights and innovations shared at the event are built upon the Microsoft Energy Core global initiative, in which the power of artificial intelligence is combined with cloud technologies and the Internet of Things to enable organisations to transform their businesses.
