Restaurant tech startup Deliverect buys Chatfood, offers social media ordering

ChatFood’s acquisition allows Deliverect to expand and reinforce its support for social media ordering, dine-in QR technology, and direct channel ordering

Deliverect has acquired ChatFood, a provider of social media ordering, order and pay at table, and loyalty solutions.

According to the company, the acquisition aims to provide a comprehensive solution for the restaurant industry that enables profitable growth and exceptional experiences, including social, dine-in QR, and direct channel ordering, as well as online food delivery.

ChatFood co-founders Benjamin Mouflard and Vini Rodrigues will remain with Deliverect, leading further growth and expansion.

Together, Deliverect and ChatFood serve more than 43,000 restaurants and food service businesses worldwide, powering over 300 million orders in 42 markets. ChatFood has a strong presence in the Gulf region, with over 3,000 food service locations relying on its technology.

Zhong Xu, CEO and co-founder of Deliverect, said, “With ChatFood, we now provide a 360-degree solution inspired by the challenges our customers face, supporting them both with in-restaurant dining and online food delivery. This milestone is significant for our company, because each day we strive to simplify the lives of restaurant owners and help them thrive in the digital age.”

With the addition of ChatFood, Deliverect will offer a one-stop digital platform that simplifies the ordering process and drives value for both in-restaurant dining and online delivery experiences. Social media ordering technology is a critical investment for restaurants seeking to better understand, connect with, and engage their customers directly to increase repeat business and stand out from the competition.

Naji Haddad, General Manager of MENA for Deliverect noted that the acquisition of ChatFood is an essential step for Deliverect, particularly in MENA, given the company’s notable presence and success in the market.

“We are delighted to invest further in the Middle East, demonstrating our ongoing commitment to our customers here, as well as to the wider community,” added Haddad.

ChatFood’s solutions have resulted in higher average customer spend, more tips, and increased labor efficiency. The food service industry will benefit from new solutions, including Deliverect Social Media Ordering, which allows customers to order from their social media accounts, and Deliverect Order & Pay, which digitises the dine-in experience with custom QR codes for menus, ordering, bill management, and payment.

Deliverect Social Media Ordering and Order & Pay will roll out globally in the coming months following the acquisition.
