Saudi Arabia attracts Chinese companies to open HQ in the Kingdom

Beijing agreement sets stage for Chinese tech giants to establish headquarters in Saudi Arabia

To advance Saudi Arabia’s technology landscape, the National Information Technology Development Programme (NTDP) has inked a cooperation agreement with MSA Novo, a subsidiary of MSA Capital, a global venture capital and private equity firm.

The agreement, formalised by NTDP CEO Ibrahim Niaz and MSA Novo’s Founder and Managing Partner Jenny Zeng at a ceremony in Beijing, aims to deepen technological collaboration between Saudi Arabia and China.

Saudi Arabia: Knowledge Transfer and Innovation Stimulus

A core objective of the partnership is to facilitate knowledge transfer, exchange experiences, and drive technology development in the Kingdom. By fostering collaboration, the agreement seeks to bolster the technological capabilities of local companies, spur technical innovation, and deliver innovative products and solutions aligned with market demands, ultimately enhancing national competitiveness.

MSA Capital, with investments exceeding $45 million in nine startup companies in Saudi Arabia, plays a key role in the agreement. The firm, founded in 2014, has been instrumental in bringing 19 international companies into the Saudi market. With over 250 international companies under its umbrella, MSA Capital aims to expand the Kingdom’s tech ecosystem by attracting more companies to operate within its borders.

The National Information Technology Development Programme is aligned with Saudi Arabia’s broader vision of transforming into a global technology hub by 2030. The programme focuses on fortifying the Kingdom’s information technology system, fostering sustainable technological development, and accelerating the achievement of strategic goals.

As the NTDP and MSA Novo join forces, the strategic partnership not only strengthens bilateral ties between Saudi Arabia and China but also positions the Kingdom as an attractive destination for Chinese technology giants looking to establish their headquarters, marking a crucial step toward global tech leadership.
