Saudi Business Center’s Unified Electronic Code to cut clutter and streamline operations

The Unified Electronic Code service significantly contributes to data accuracy and enhances transparency in the business sector

The Saudi Business Center (SBC) has introduced the Unified Electronic Code service in collaboration with key government entities such as the Ministries of Commerce, Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing, the Zakat, Tax, and Customs Authority, and the General Directorate of Civil Defense.

This innovative service is designed to offer up-to-date and reliable electronic data for establishments, addressing the challenge of visual clutter caused by the mandatory display of primary data certificates at premises and branches.

The primary goal is to streamline control and inspection operations, reducing the time involved. In its initial phase, the service focuses on linking data related to commercial registrations, municipal licenses, tax certificates, and civil defence permits to the Unified Electronic Code. Subsequent phases will expand coverage to include all operational data and licenses.

The Unified Electronic Code service significantly contributes to data accuracy and enhances transparency in the business sector. It allows consumers electronic access to documents and certificates of establishments, promoting a more transparent business environment.

Business owners can conveniently access the service through the Saudi Business Center platform. The centre, with its 17 physical branches spread across 14 cities in the Kingdom, offers over 750 services. It plays a crucial role in facilitating economic activities by proposing, reviewing, and reengineering policies and procedures in collaboration with relevant government bodies to make them more concise and cost-effective.
