Twitter to allow calls and encrypted messages, says Elon Musk

With this new update, users can call other without providing a phone number.

Elon Musk, the CEO of Twitter, has provided information on upcoming features that include encrypted chat, video and audio calls, and more.

In his latest tweet, he gave details about the features to be expected on the app, “Coming soon will be voice and video chat from your handle to anyone on this platform, so you can talk to people anywhere in the world without giving them your phone number.”

Musk stated that starting on Wednesday, a version of encrypted direct messaging will be accessible on Twitter, but he made no mention of encrypted calls.
