The UAE Ministry of Economy’s startup initiative called ‘Entrepreneurial Nation’ has joined forces with Huawei Cloud to introduce the ‘Huawei Cloud Startup Program’ within the country.
This strategic collaboration aims to invigorate the UAE’s startup landscape by granting eligible businesses access to Huawei Cloud’s valuable ecosystem resources and providing up to $150,000 in vouchers.
According to the Ministry of Economy, a substantial 94 percent of the nation’s businesses operate within the small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) or startup sectors. These SMEs play a pivotal role in employing over 86 percent of the private sector workforce.
Notably, in Dubai, SMEs form 95 percent of the business landscape, contributing over 40 percent to the GDP and employing 42 percent of the workforce. The Huawei Cloud Startup Program harnesses Huawei’s extensive three-decade expertise in information and communication technology (ICT) and digitalisation to empower this vital sector, fostering innovation aligned with the UAE’s digitisation aspirations.
The Entrepreneurial Nation’s second phase, launched in October 2022, aims to comprehensively develop UAE’s SMEs and the overall entrepreneurial environment. This pioneering phase emphasises robust public-private partnerships, aiming to cultivate tools and practices that cultivate a thriving entrepreneurship culture throughout the UAE.

Huawei Cloud seeks to facilitate seamless scaling for startups by eliminating the burden of high infrastructure costs and limited on-premise computing capacity. Participants can gain cost-effective access to state-of-the-art technologies and resources.
