UAE residents who wish to update information on their visas can now conveniently make changes through online platforms, as per reports from local media sources.

Upon submitting a request for amendments to their residence visas, an automatic application for a replacement Emirates ID will also be initiated.

This digital service has been officially endorsed by the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship, Customs, and Port Security (ICP), according to local media reports. Individuals interested in utilising this service can access it via the official website of the authority (www.icp.gov.ae) or the UAEICP smart app.

Modifications that can be made online to residence visa data include personal information, occupation, passport details, or nationality (in the case of obtaining a new nationality).

The process for updating residency particulars has been simplified through user-friendly digital channels, including the official website and smart app of the authority. These updates can include changes to personal particulars, professional designations, passport data, and adjustments in nationality due to acquiring a new citizenship.

How to modify details and apply for a new Emirates ID online

Gaining access to these services is straightforward; individuals can log in using their UAE Pass or username credentials on the authority’s website or the UAEICP smart app. After selecting the relevant service, users can input the required application details and proceed to make the necessary payments.

Alternatively, applicants have the option to visit authorised customer happiness centres or approved typing offices. To apply for the service, residents must provide the following documents:

  • coloured ID photo
  • passport copy
  • a signed request for data amendment by the sponsor
  • copy of the Emirates ID card (front and back)

Completing the process requires a fee of $54 (AED 200). If an application is rejected due to insufficient details or discrepancies, the payment will be refunded, according to reports.
