UAE’s du partners with GoDaddy to support SMEs

In line with the collaboration, all SMEs subscribing to du’s broadband plans will receive GoDaddy’s E-commerce Starter Kit

Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company (du) has partnered with GoDaddy to support entrepreneurs and small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the UAE in their digital transformation journey. This collaboration, as announced in a press release, will offer vital connectivity solutions and facilitate their online presence.

As part of this partnership, all SMEs subscribing to du’s broadband plans will receive GoDaddy’s E-commerce Starter Kit. This package includes .com domain registration, a professional Microsoft email account, and an e-store builder tool with hosting services that support unlimited pages and seamless social media integration.

Karim Benkirane, Chief Commercial Officer at du, emphasised that this collaboration not only addresses SMEs’ connectivity needs but also equips them with essential digital tools to excel in a competitive market. He stressed that it positions them for long-term success and enables them to seize opportunities in the ever-evolving digital landscape.

“Our partnership goes beyond empowering SMEs to succeed, it showcases our commitment to the future of entrepreneurship in the UAE,” he said.

This starter kit will be provided free of charge for one year, enabling SMEs to explore and leverage the limitless possibilities offered by the digital landscape.

Selina Bieber, Vice President for International Markets at GoDaddy, expressed their joint mission to empower businesses with the necessary tools to thrive online and support SMEs in growing their digital presence. Bieber highlighted that the partnership between GoDaddy and du aims to bridge the digital gap for UAE SMEs, providing them with essential tools and connectivity to establish a robust online footprint.

According to GoDaddy’s MENA Small Business Survey, approximately 50 percent of UAE businesses using online channels generate up to 20 percent of their annual revenue through these platforms. The survey also revealed that UAE enterprises acquire over 70 percent of their customers through online channels, surpassing other markets.

Earlier in 2023, du had collaborated with Alliance Networks to bring high-capacity intra-regional connectivity to customers in the MENA region and the Gulf.
