The e-commerce industry has witnessed a massive increase in demand during the pandemic. With ever-increasing digital sales of grocery, electronics, and apparel, online platforms have created a virtual space for numerous outlets.

As companies can’t operate on whole staff and need to maintain social distancing, it has become tough to keep up with the increasing demand. This need has led to robots being included in day-to-day lives, helping make up for the lack of staff.

A tech-powered warehouse in Dubai has employed robots to strengthen its management and increase the delivery of goods. At the facility run by RoboStores, androids get to their task as soon as a customer completes a purchase online. The product’s information is sent to the smart machine, post which it selects the items from the data programmed into it.

Compared to a human requiring 30 minutes to locate and deliver a product, the bot takes a mere 30 seconds. Designed to work continuously for 24 hours on a single charge of one hour, the bots cut down the earlier requirement of 20 workers to run a warehouse to just four.

With a massive increase in the speed of the entire process, the robots also bring down the requirement for human resources, lifting the standards of the e-commerce supply chain. In addition, as the products are coded, there is an increase in the accuracy as they can quickly reach for the product and take it to the workstation.

In addition to smoothly shifting bins to manage space efficiently, the robots also keep track of empty containers to place new products. RoboStore claims that the robots can finish around 1500 orders per day.
