After abandoning its efforts to develop an electric car, Apple may now work to build a robot

All the global tech giants are rushing on the GenAI bandwagon, and Apple isn’t too far behind. The Cupertino headquartered giant is believed to now be working on making personal robots.

These reports come in weeks after the giant abandoned its efforts to develop an electric car. Reports suggest that Apple engineers are working on building robots that would follow people at home and be helpful.

Currently in its early stages, the report by Bloomberg suggested the company is looking at new and different ways to make money beyond the iPhone and digital content and services.

Apple is reportedly transferring employees from the shuttered car division to GenAI projects. The robot specifically being overseen by Apple’s hardware engineering division and its AI and machine learning group.

The report came as analysts are keen to hear what progress Apple is making with AI at the company’s annual WWDC developers gathering at its Silicon Valley campus in June.
