Dell Technologies’ Amit Midha appointed as Alat’s Global CEO

Amit Midha, who previously had overseen Dell Technologies growth in Asia-Pacific ad Japan has joined Alat as the global CEO.

Alat, the PIF company chaired by His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and the Chairman of the Board of Directors of PIF has announced Amit Midha as Alat’s global CEO. A global business leader, who has held leadership roles across India, China, US, and Singapore, Midha joins from Dell Technologies. He was responsible for Dell’s growth in Asia-Pacific and Japan. Midha had overseen a multi-billion-dollar business’ spanning over 40 countries.

In a statement shared by Alat, Midha said, the company’s mandate is to transform the global industries of advanced industrials and electronics by creating a sustainable manufacturing hub. This, by leveraging the Kingdom’s wind, solar, and green hydrogen clean energy. He added Alat will use technology to transform business by leveraging cutting-edge AI technologies and Industry 4.0 best-practices for manufacturing.

“We will enable the realignment of practices and approaches to embrace sustainability and efficiency. This is not only using clean energy, but applying sustainability measures to all our operations, buildings, logistics and supply chains, with sustainability at the core of everything we do,” said Midha.

The focus of Alat will be across seven business units and also manufacture products across over 34 product categories, these include:

Smart devices – This will be the manufacture of smart devices like laptops and PCs, smartphones, TVs and display units, home audio and gaming consoles, printers and scanners

Smart Appliances – These will the manufacture of home and domestic appliances and also commercial appliances.

Smart Health – Focussed on healthcare and use of technology, and delivering solutions for personal wellness, streamlined medical services, and enhance patient care. The Alat Smart Health business unit will focus on – Minimal invasive surgery, smart therapeutic devices, orthopedics and mobility, diabetic and hearing care, laser and aesthetics.

Smart buildings – The focus will be to manufacture ventilation, heating, and air-conditioning (HVAC) systems, escalator, elevator products.

Advanced Industrials- Manufacture products in heavy equipment for construction and mining, components, and electrification

Next Gen Infrastructure- Focus on manufacturing in the areas of robotics, servers, CCTV etc

The note stated, Alat will enhance the capabilities of the technological sector, benefiting from the rapid development of this sector in Saudi Arabia, increasing the nation’s ability to create investment opportunities.

The company will also empower the private sector and enhance the commercial environment through its business systems and partnerships with leading international technology manufacturers.

Alat will focus on transforming global industries (electronics and advanced industrials) and creating a world-class manufacturing hub in the Kingdom. The company will deliver sustainable manufacturing to help global companies reduce their emissions and move towards carbon-zero manufacturing. Alat will deliver its mandate by partnering with the world’s leading corporations to innovate and transform industries, with a commitment and focus on using clean energy.
