Tatweer Misr, the Egyptian real estate developer, signed a deal with Schneider Electric to design and manage smart cities, local Egyptian media reported.

The partnership will allow Tatweer Misr to utilise the iTWO platform, established by Schneider Electric’s RIB Software.

“The iTWO platform enables clients to cut their operation schedules and costs, by integrating AI technology to provide simulations, making the planning of the project’s infrastructure easy and efficient,” said Fouad Zayed, Vice President of Digital Energy and EcoStruxure for Egypt, North-East Africa, and Levant Cluster at Schneider Electric.

Egypt’s 2052 vision aims to double urban area in Egypt from 7 to 14 percent. The plan includes developing 61 cities, 24 of which will be designed based on smart solutions.

“The collaboration between Schneider Electric and Tatweer Misr aims to further enhance the digital transformation and smart city-building in the country,” Zayed said.
