Mastercard drops limited release NFT for music fans in Middle East

Music fans can take part in the limited edition release of the Mastercard Music Pass NFT, which is being minted on the Polygon blockchain

Mastercard has recently released a limited edition NFT called the Mastercard Music Pass, which grants music fans exclusive access to content and experiences from the Mastercard Artist Accelerator programme.

The program aims to prepare five emerging artists from around the world with the skills and tools they need to harness Web3 technologies, grow their careers in the digital economy, and reimagine their creative processes.

It features artists including Nigerian R&B/Afrobeats producer LeriQ, hip-hop artist Cocoa Sarai from Brooklyn, Vietnamese American singer Emily Vu, Latin pop artist Manu Manzo from Venezuela, and London-based R&B soul singer and BRIT School alumna Young Athena.

“One of the incredible things about Web3 technologies, and NFTs in particular, are the way in which they offer creators more flexibility and ownership of their content, while generating exciting new ways for fans to engage with their art,” said Beatrice Cornacchia, Senior Vice President, Marketing and Communications, EEMEA.

“The Mastercard Artist Accelerator programme and Mastercard Music Pass give us an opportunity to harness NFTs for both of these exciting purposes, while helping to support some of the most vibrant, diverse young artists in the world today.”

Mastercard: Accelerating a tech-driven music industry

The program will guide each artist through a unique journey with one-on-one sessions, mentored by industry leaders like Australian composer and producer Tushar Apte, British dancer and content creator Nifè, and Ian Rogers, the Chief Experience Officer of Ledger, who will advise on how to build a digital business.

Mastercard has a long-standing commitment to music innovation and has been an early adopter of Web3 technologies to create inclusive experiences. In addition to sponsoring the GRAMMY Awards, Latin GRAMMY Awards, and BRIT Awards, the company launched its first-ever album, “Priceless,” last year through an innovative collaboration centered on mentoring rising artists.

With its expertise in building strong networks in the digital economy, the Mastercard Artist Accelerator aims to equip emerging artists with the necessary tools and capabilities to succeed in the tech-driven era.

The Mastercard Music Pass NFT is being minted on the Polygon blockchain and is free to redeem until May 8th.

Once redeemed, token holders will be able to follow the Mastercard Artist Accelerator program and gain access to all of its content, as well as Web3 tools, educational materials, and other exclusive experiences.
