Meta brings generative AI tools for advertisers

Meta initiated testing of these generative AI tools in May

Social media giant Meta Platforms announced the rollout of generative artificial intelligence (AI) tools designed to generate content such as image backgrounds and variations of written text for advertisers.

This initiative marks Meta’s first step into incorporating generative AI into its products, utilising vast repositories of historical data to produce fresh content including prose, art, and software code.

Meta ventures into generative AI technology

Meta initiated testing of these tools in May, initially providing access to a select group of advertisers within a designated “testing playground.”

These tools will soon be accessible through Meta’s Ads Manager, with the rollout expected to be completed by next year.

Additionally, Meta recently revealed plans for businesses to leverage AI for customer engagement on Messenger and WhatsApp, further expanding its AI product portfolio, which includes “Llama 2,” a language model, and Meta AI, an AI chatbot capable of generating text responses and photo-realistic images.
