New NFT music marketplace to work with artists, labels and brands

Public Pressure, built on the Polkadot/Kusama blockchain protocol, aims to break down barriers for entry into the new digital ecosystem

A new NFT music marketplace is looking to connect independent labels, artists, brands and superfans around the globe.

Public Pressure, built on the Polkadot/Kusama blockchain protocol, works with artists, music labels and brands on strategy, NFT development and creation, distribution and marketing via its proprietary NFT marketplace.

The company is co-founded by fashion thought leaders and respected designers, Giulia Maresca and Francesca Versace, longtime blockchain and cryptocurrency investment expert Sergio Mottola, and recording artist and label owner Alfredo Violante.

“On-demand streams, CD sales, radio play, live events, advertising, have risen to about $43 billion a year. Of that, artists only take home $5 billion, or less than 20 percent. We believe the NFT landscape today very enticing for any artist to enter. If we ignore the unrealistic price tags some sales are making; we are left with a very compelling distribution format, which will allow musicians to capture more value,” Public Pressure co-founder and president, Sergio Mottola said.

The platform is designed for everyone to participate, no matter if you’re crypto-fluent or a beginner. With a goal to break down barriers for entry into the new digital ecosystem, Public Pressure doubles as a creative agency to conceptualise, develop and curate partnerships between artists and brands, and artists and fans.

“Public Pressure is kickstarting a new Italian Renaissance in the modern digital world. Our platform will take NFTs to the next level and bridge digital and physical worlds, creating a new economic engine. Our platform allows artists, labels and brands to create and sell exclusive digital assets with the option to include limited edition physical formats, apparel, merchandising and access to live events with VIP experiences,” co-founder and chief executive officer, Giulia Maresca said.

Public Pressure will launch with select partners in early summer, including a collaboration with Patrick Moxey Founder of Ultra Publishing, house of artists such as Benny Benassi, Wheezy, YOG$ and Pay Day records, known for helping to launch the careers of artists including Jay Z and Mos Def.
